3rd Company — The Stone Guard
The Iron Bulwark
Primary Battleline of the Knights aspect of the Wardens. Specializing in massed infantry warfare.
Experts in static defense and counter-charge maneuvers, holding ground at any cost.
Master of the "Anvil" tactic, pinning enemies in place for the 2nd Company’s "Hammer."
Heavily equipped with Gravis-pattern armor to endure the most punishing combat zones.
The 3rd Company, the Stone Guard, represents the unyielding stoicism of the Knight doctrines. While other Warden companies might seek glory through rapid movement or stealth, the 3rd finds its honor in the refusal to yield even a single inch of ground. They are the bedrock of the Chapter’s operations; when the Wardens must clear a fortress, a mountain pass, or a vital objective, it is the Stone Guard who are summoned. Their presence is such that an enemy charge often falters before it even reaches their lines, intimidated by the sight of silent, marching ranks of heavy ceramite.
The culture of the 3rd Company is one of silent resolve and meticulous preparation. Every Brother is trained to see the battlefield as a series of interlocking fire lanes and kill zones. They are frequently paired with the 2nd Company; while the Dawn Spears scream down from the clouds to cause chaos, the Stone Guard advances in a phalanx, drawing the enemy's attention and fire, effectively pinning the foe against before the Spears deliver the killing blow.

Deployment and Squad Types
The Stone Guard utilizes a "Layered Defense" strategy. They deploy in dense, mutually supporting formations of Tacticus and Gravis-armored squads, backed by the heavy grav-tanks of the Chapter armory.
Intercessors and Heavy Intercessors
The bulk of the Company is composed of its Intercessor squads. The standard Intercessors provide the flexibility to hold objectives and provide mid-range fire, while the 30 Heavy Intercessors form the "Stone" of the company’s name. Clad in thick Gravis plate and wielding heavy bolt rifles, these brothers are specialized in long-range firefights and holding positions that would be suicidal for lesser infantry. They do not flinch, and they do not retreat.
Hellblaster and Eradicator Squads
When the enemy attempts to break the Stone Guard with heavy armor or monstrous beasts, the Company’s specialist squads respond with overwhelming force. The Hellblasters provide high-intensity plasma fire to incinerate heavy infantry, while the Gravis clad Eradicators advance to point-blank range to slag enemy tanks with melta fire. These squads are the teeth of the defense, ensuring that nothing survives long enough to actually reach the Stone Guard’s line.
The Iron Phalanx
The 3rd Company maintains a massive motor pool compared to the Ranger companies. Gladiator tanks provide localized fire support, while Storm Speeders act as mobile outriders that harass enemy flanks to funnel them toward the Heavy Intercessors. At the center of the line sits the Repulsor Executioner, a massive grav-fortress that serves as both a transport for the Knights and a primary anti-heavy platform.
The Role of their Captain: "Master of the Arsenal"
The Captain of the 3rd Company is the Master of the Arsenal. He is the custodian of the Chapter's heavy munitions and armored fighting vehicles. Beyond his tactical duties, he is responsible for the maintenance and distribution of the Chapter's most powerful kinetic and energy weapons.
On the field, the Master of the Arsenal is a director of destruction. He does not simply lead a company; he orchestrates a symphony of heavy ordnance. He is typically found at the point of greatest pressure, standing atop a ruin or the hull of a Repulsor, calmly directing fire to where it is needed most. To him, every bolt shell and plasma cell is a precious resource of the Chapter, and he ensures each one is spent in exchange for a mountain of enemy corpses.
Glad in artificer Gravis armour, his sensor suit gives him oversight of the the battlefield and its arcs of fire. When not mounted within his Repulsor Executioner, he takes to the field with a frag-cannon, a relic from his service with the Deathwatch.
